2017 Year in Review

2017 Year in Review

Our ‘Replacing your Condo Fireplace’ campaign was a big success, and we’re proud to say that we’ve helped many condo owners update their fireplaces this year!

There are a lot of B vented fireplaces out there, and we noticed that homeowners are under the impression that a replacement B vented fireplace insert wouldn’t be enough heat.
B vented fireplaces have improved significantly over the years, for instance, the Valor B vented G3 fireplace insert can heat up to 1,000 sq.ft – and with your choice in liners, media and surrounds, the Valor G3 B vent will be the attractive focal point you want.

New Products

Speaking of inserts: Lopi Fireplaces has come out with their own line of fireplace inserts. The Radiant Plus fireplaces line are available in 3 sizes, with the smallest due to hit the market sometime 2018.

The 42 ProBuilder from FireplaceX was designed to be an answer for the ‘builder’s special’ fireplace. It comes with great features typically expected from the FireplaceX brand, but doesn’t come with a lot of options, keeping it at a low price point. It has an attractive, minimalist, design, which has made it a popular unit in our showroom.

DaVinci has introduced the Maestro. The Maestro is a high-end, luxury fireplace. It’s designed to be installed in new builds or major renovations, and is available as single-sided or see-thru.

Design Trends

Vancouver has a unique design style, most of our customers will choose products with transitional, or modern options. Our main sellers are units with traditional log sets, and contemporary surround or trim options.

Lopi Radiant Plus Medium

We expect those kinds of units to continue to be our main sellers throughout 2018. Also look for the units that don’t require a trim, such as: Bell Fires line, Stuv line, and the clean-face 564 and 864 from FireplaceX.

Outdoors

2017 saw the introduction of the Barbara Jean line of linear outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and fire tables. This line will appeal to restaurants, and businesses with an outdoor patio.

Another change in 2017 was the addition of Valor fireplaces to our outdoor section. Valor has an optional outdoor kit available for those who love the look of Valor fireplaces – venting is required for these units.
