Feng Shui and your Fireplace

Feng Shui and your Fireplace

For anyone paying attention to the news lately, you might have heard the story of residents in China suing the country because of bad Feng Shui in new builds.

So we decided to research Feng Shui and your fireplace.

According to experts, electric or gas are best because they don’t have an open chimney for energy to escape. If you already have a wood-burning fireplace, put a glass screen in front of it to prevent energy from escaping.

If you’re in the process of renovating or building your home, here are some tips on selecting the right location for your fireplace.

Fireplaces are meant to be a point of attraction, and to represent your style. Depending on what you want to bring out in your feng shui.

Putting a fireplace in the south wall of your living room will bring good luck. The south energy is fire, and it relates to your future and reputation. To bring out the best, the fireplace needs to be the focal point, with furniture arranged around it.

Other areas that are favourable are the earth-energy walls; the NE wall will bring positive education for you and your children. The SW wall will enhance your romantic relationship.

Avoid a fireplace on the north wall, as this could lead to failure in your work life. Placing it in the SE will also lead to money issues.

Of course, we at VGF take this with a grain of salt. We just found the interest around feng shui, well, interesting.

Our recommendations will always revolve around what type of unit you’re looking for and what your main goal for your fireplace is.
