Outdoor wood and gas fireplaces come in a broad range of styles and functions, from portable gas "fire pits” you can take camping, to large zero-clearance fireplaces that can be built-in to enhance an outdoor living space.
A number of jurisdictions have banned the use of wood burning exterior fireplaces. There are numerous exterior gas fireplaces that will make suitable replacements for these banned units. Several of the gas units require no venting, making installation a relatively simple affair.
Exterior fireplaces present an additional design option for exterior spaces providing a visual component, ambiance and a pleasant radiant heating capability.
